[WebDNA] Check to see if certain characters are numeric?

Is there a relatively easy way to c=heck to see if the first 4 characters of a field are numeric? I'm pulli=ng data from another database where the first 4 characters of a field could= be the model year of the vehicle or it would be the manufacturer name e.g.= International, Freightliner, etc. There is also the possibility that the f=ield could be blank.
