WEBSTAR LOG FILE on 10/11/97 27:28 Typhoon introduced a new feature (which will make it into the next WebCatalog) that lets you define the fieldnames in a database without actually typing them at the top of the file itself. For now, you can use Typhoon to test this technique. If you have a log file called WebSTAR log.txt then create another text file called WebSTAR log.hdr which contains the tab-delimited fieldnames for the log file, followed by a carriage return. When WebCatalog/Typhoon attempts to open WebSTAR log.txt as a database, it will search for the WebSTAR log.hdr file and apply those fieldnames. WebCatalog/Typhoon can handle the !!! lines, because it senses that there are not enough tabs on that line and it inserts enough tabs to fill the rest of the columns with blanks. So whatever your first fielname is will contain the complete !!! text, and you can even run a [Delete] against the database to erase those records.Grant Hulbert, V.P.
