I'm writing a multi-vendor storein WebCat for a client, and it requires similar capabilities to whatyou're looking to implement in your own store. Your approach may endup being a bit different from mine, however, and hopefully yours willbe faster and easier to implement.I *thought* I would be able to use WebCat's built-in commercefunctions with some special formulas to get the results I need, butthe more I got into it, the more I realized that I would probably bebetter off creating all my own commerce functions from scratch inWebDNA, rather than try to modify WebCat's built-in capabilities.Believe me, this was no small task -- it's a LOT of work. I managedto succeed, and the results are awesome! But in the process, Ilearned some very valuable lessons, the most important being that PCShas taken into consideration many, MANY eCommerce features andfunctions which are completely invisible to the user -- butabsolutely critical for the proper (and secure) results to beachieved.I would *not* suggest that you create your own commerce functionsfrom scratch like I did ... unless there's absolutely no other wayaround it. But fortunately, it CAN be done if absolutely necessary,so that's just one more good thing about WebCatalog ... because nomatter what I need (or think I need), at least WebCatalog makes itpossible for me to attempt it.Sincerely, Ken GromeWebDNA Solutionshttp://www.smithmicro.com/webdnasolutions/.
