texte = I have almost finished a complete hyperboard/bulletin board system written in webcatalog. The only part not finished is the delete function. It is 16 templates. It is patterned after the perl script hyperboard. Which when running on a Mac using macperl is slower the trying to do databases using filemaker pro :) (that slow you say!!!)I make to guarantees to the quality of my html or webdna coding :) This is an edited version from a private site I consult on. I just removed their [included] headers and footers and page counters and labeling that makes it personnal to them. But since several people have been bugging me for a working copy, here is all but the delete function. It has an admin function for changing and trimming off older messages. It is set for the main board to show message back 14 days and the archive from 15-28 days. You can edit to your hearts desire all you want. The admin functions use the [protect admin] tag. Change that as needed. It all runs inside it's own directory. The main page is called index.html and the admin is admin.html. It comes with a starting data base. It was designed with the idea of getting it to work with typhoon so, everything is in one data base. I suggest if you want to test it to duplicate the message.db and then replace the test db with the untouch original when you are ready to go live.I have been to busy to have it tested with the plugin (mac), on an NT or windows box or with typhoon. It has only been used with the acgi (mac). It uses [closedatabase] thru out on replace and you can change those to commitdatabase or whatever if using 2.1.I was going to mess with a convertchar data base to put >, on the quoted messages like hyperboard does and might try that tonight (if I find the time). All templates use the extension .html, so those not passing .html but only .tmpl or .tpl will have to edit that also.point your browser atftp://www.panavise.com/downloads/message.sitto get a copy. It is only 25K stuffed. It is free as explained in the comments inside the index.html page. All I ask is that if you use it you not remove the reference to webcatalog found on the bottom of each page. Also keep your questions and comments off the webcatalog list and private to me.I plan to add a cron/script to trim the messages back every night automatically instead of manually. If you have a heavy message system this is a must because the database can get big rather fast. And it does a 10 level deep, nested searches. If you need the theory behind the searches and the concept of the system and a detailed description of each field of the database then request that in private to me. The the first valid record of the database is a control number that keeps the whole thing linked together. The messages go below that. It was done this way to work with typhoon which again I never found the time to test with.Have fun if this usefull to anyone using webcatalog.=============================================== Gary Richter PanaVise Products, Inc. 7540 Colbert Dr. Reno, Nevada 89511 Ph: 702.850.2900 Fx: 702.850.2929 Email: grichter@panavise.com http://www.panavise.com =============================================== Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
