triggering an update of two frames

texte = I'm building a frame-based shopping site with one frame showing the shopping page and another showing the cart contents. I'm trying to figure out a slick way to pass the $add arguements to the cart frame but at the same time changing the contents of the shopping frame announcing Your item has been added and maybe some other options based upon [showif].I've played around with a combination of showif and referrer to bounce between the frames but I havn't figured out a technique to get the desired results.
