First of all, WebCat doesn't throw anything at your SMTP server, it's the Emailer program that does the mail sending. And second, most mail servers can handle *much* faster feeds than one message every 5 seconds, which is what Emailer uses at the default setting of 300 ticks. For example, EIMS, SIMS, and most every UNIX-based email server can handle far faster mail feeds than Emailer sends them. Sonic just doesn't seem to be a very robust SMTP server if it cannot even handle one message every 5 seconds ... :(>Like I said >before, my mail idea was for large mailings (mass mailing).Since you're saddled by the Sonic Mail Server's relatively severe limitations, it is interesting that you have figured out a way to use WebDNA and a meta tag to slow down the speed at which Sonic receives each message. Then again, it doesn't take webdna code or html to do that, because Dave suggested increasing the tick value in the Emailer prefs to something higher than 300, which seems to me to be a much simpler and more elegant solution.Personally I cannot imagine wanting to stop a mass-mailing in the middle of the process, so using a meta-refresh tag to control the speed of the mailing would never be something I would want to do ... but hey, if it works for you, great! :) Sincerely, Ken Grome 808-737-6499 WebDNA Solutions mailto:ken@webdna.net http://www.webdna.net Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
