searching for last file in a directory

Has anyone a handy solution for displaying the last file (alphabetically) in a given subdirectory? like afolder/01.picafolder/02.picafolder/03.picafolder/04.pic <<-- this one needs to be displayed It has to do something with [listfiles], but I cant get any further Regards Matthias.
