(Note the *exact* same template and db works fine on mac and NT.) My question is in regard to something he told me... he said there should not be any amperasands in the db or else crashes could be expected. This seems like it can't be right. We took out the amperasands and webcat is still crashing on that template, so something else is the immediate problem, but I just want to doublecheck the point with you all - are you who are using webcat on Linux avoiding appending amperasands into your db at all costs? I thought it was alright so long as one [URL]izes the spot in the append context where the data gets into the db, and uses [convertchars] to display in the HTML, and [input] to get it into the value of some form input. If you say yes, he is right, then how do I for example allow someone to input data so that it can later be found with a [search] and dislayed to produce a quote mark for example ("), etc.?-John ------------------------------------------------------------- Brought to you by CommuniGate Pro - The Buzz Word Compliant Messaging Server.
