texte = is a 100% Netscape concept. The Tag is Netscape's implementation of dynamically positioned HTML elements. IE supports positioned elements through a different and superior object model. Perhaps you are speaking of Layers as a completely generic term, then what you have said makes sense, but I imagine one could get very confused if one tried coding using Layers in IE. Remember that when creating DHTML with positioned elements you need to do two implantations one for IE and one for Netscape.
