The two aren't really comparable, though. WebCatalog is obviously much, much simpler, easier to use, and consequently less powerful. I in no way mean this as an insult. I had exactly zero experience programming languages before I picked up WebCat about 18 months ago, and there is no way I could understand PHP today without first grasping many of the concepts in WebDNA.As for speed, big changes are coming with PHP4 and Zend. This will allow you to compile code, greatly increasing response time. Early tests indicate that compiled PHP4 will beat ASP like the bastard child that it is. However, the compiler will cost you (no idea how much), so that will affect your comparison. Read Welcome Zend and other PHP tutorials at Webmonkey (http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/programming/php/).The best thing about PHP is that, whenever I'm working, and thinking I wonder if there's a variable/function/way-to-do-that, I check out the manual at http://www.php.net/, and there it is!:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: : Brian:Drum :::::::::::::::::::: mailto:bdrum@aecsoft.com : : Web:Designer :::::::::::::::::::: http://www.aecsoft.com : : AEC:Software;:Inc.:::::::::::::::: tel:703.450.1980 :::::: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ------------------------------------------------------------- Brought to you by CommuniGate Pro - The Buzz Word Compliant Messaging Server.
