However, I can tell you this: if you are worried about having to type the [!][/!] pairs into your code manually, then you are using the wrong editor. All modern editors have the ability to Search/Replace on various characters, including EOL. I use MultiEdit for Windows (and highly recommend it) and I know others use BBEdit as well.
