texte = Hi John, thanks for the info. Actually, what's happening is that webcat is running fine, it's just not processing 'all' of the pages correctly. Obviously if I load a page that has webdna on it and it doesn't show the code, then webcat is working, but other stuff on that same page will not be working. When it happened yesterday, the memory usage was at a mere 20,000k and the cpu processing was normal. I thought it had to be the fact that the memory was getting up to 200,000k, so I changed the template checking settings in the admin from 2 seconds to 30seconds and that immediately solved the big memory usage problem. I thought it was fixed, but about an hour later the same thing happened....not all the info on several pages were not being served correctly. Ideas? Thanks, David.-----Original Message----- From: John Peacock [mailto:jpeacock@rowman.com] Sent: Friday, June 29, 2001 6:27 AM To: WebDNA-Talk@talk.smithmicro.com Subject: Re: Trigger to restart Webcat Service David Anderson wrote: > > p.s. look at the .bat files in the WebCatalogEngine for some ways to > start and stop the services, like any NT service^^^^ This is all you need to know to find out the answer. I'm just not making it easy for you! If you look at the webcatservice.exe in Task Manager, does it still use CPU when it appears hung (in particular does it use a LOT)? This would show whether you have a loop in one of your templates.John-- John Peacock Director of Information Research and Technology Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group 4720 Boston Way Lanham, MD 20706 301-459-3366 x.5010 fax 301-429-5747------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
