The when the Shah was overthrown, we simply armed and supported Saddam Hussein in his war against Iran, even when he was doing things like nerve gasssing his own people, then acted surprised when a person willing to do something like that turned around and attacked the people who had armed him. We simply goaded Saddam's enemies withing Iraq into openly opposing him, then left them out to dry when we decided that wasn't a politcally defensible postion. We simply armed and trained Bin Lauden and the Taliban when they were fighting to get the USSR out of Afghanistan, then pretty much did the same to them.Simply, the past 25 years of US policy in the mideast have come down to this present--mosters that we created ourselves. It goes without saying that killing thousands of innocent people is the act of a dark and inhumane person. What should also go without saying is that our own government created those monsters, and if we don't change the way we do business in the middle east, there will be a new crop of them in another 10 years to replace any we are lucky enough to catch and kill now.Remember, it's not just muslim extremists either, McVeigh was another monster we created. In the Gulf War, one of his jobs was using a bulldozer to bury alive Iraqi soldiers hiding in underground bunkers. We tought McVeigh how to kill a huge number of people without remorse, then acted suprised when he came back here and did it to us.are we really so blind? a.t.tribby(note, these are my personal opinions and should not be construed to reflect those of my employer)------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
