Any help will be greatly appreciated.Unless you redefine formvariables from within a page, there is nothing that should prevent you from using your templates completely unchanged. When I converted, I changed nothing. However, going back is no longer possible for me, since I have been extensively using the newer 4.x features. You are planning on doing an install of 4.x on a different server and testing before updating your production system, aren't you? Since SMSI has been nice enough to provide a free developers license, there is no reason not to have a second server for testing.> > 2) How does it affect my existing webcat program if I've to switch > to a Linux platform from Windows NT?If you were not careful about capitalization for file names, you will be very sorry when you move to a case-sensitive system like Linux. All of your links and filenames must agree on case, or you will have lots of broken links. NT is case-preserving but not case-sensitive.Also, WebCat on NT will take both backslashes \ as well as forward slashes / in pathnames. IIS is also similarly blinded, so you may need to do a global search/replace to fix this. HTML standards require the use of forward slash only. Of course, some of what WebCat does can be considered a server side include, so absolute paths are legal but questionable in practice.HTHJohn-- John Peacock Director of Information Research and Technology Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group 4720 Boston Way Lanham, MD 20706 301-459-3366 x.5010 fax 301-429-5747------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
