All updates are made toa central database, but searches are done in WebCatalog databases. There aresome databases that will not be queried often nor updated often so these (tosave memory) will probably always reside in the SQL database. In the past Ken G. has offered as a solution to this problem usingTCPConnect to update the other database. e.g. machine one has a recordadded or updated, as part of your save process, do a TCPConnect to a specialpage on the other server(s) you have and pass the information changed tothem. If the machines are on the same network, I imagine performance would be verygood. If the machines are located apart (say in different states/countries)this might not be as reliable.I believe you could probably also create some sort of text file reflectingany changes, then if you can control via a script (or even the SynchronizePro product you are mentioning) ftp this specially formatted file to yourother machines, then have a trigger to check for its existence and merge thechanges to that local database. While this method may entail more work, Iwould think that it could potentially be more reliable than usingTCPConnect.Daleon 10/4/01 8:42 PM, Marc M. at marc@lsaproofing.com wrote:> You could use tcp connect to do all your database transactions on a central> webcat server and use clone machines to process the rest of webcat> transaction, and html.
