texte = To be safe you should always url the values in your append contexts (and your showif's and hideif's too). But even if you don't, the entire db should not have its format changed even if some of the values you're appending have the wrong characters in them.It doesn't make a bit of difference what kind of new line characters the template has in it, because there are no new line characters inside your append contexts (unless they are being introduced via the [Value] or [termID] tags).
