All I know that my solution works all the time, every time, and I never 'wonder' what parameters are being passed from the shownext links to the search context -- because I'm the one who manually typed every one of those search parameters into the shownext links myself, and they are clearly visible in my webdna code which makes it easy to debug. Also, I have not used commands in YEARS so I have no idea what kinds of problems they create in the searchstring tag, if any -- and I really don't care what problems they create because I will never use them again. What I do know that the searchstring tag used to (many years ago, and maybe it's been fixed by now) duplicate some of the parameters repetitively upon each successive search until the URL would get so long that it would end up getting 'cut off' by the browser -- and then the search would fail to work properly. This is just one of the reasons I personally stopped using the searchstring years ago ...The other reason I stopped using it is because it 'disguises' the parameters I'm trying to pass to the search context, which makes it impossible for me to see them in my webdna template ... and I *hate* not being able to visually see every parameter that's going to be passed to the search context. It's a lot easier for me to see what my code is doing -- and to debug that code -- when I can see every parameter in my templates, instead of guessing at what parameters the searchstring might be passing ...
