texte = This is most likely the root of all the issues you are having. Your permissions are not right. The file WebCatalogPrefs is actually a database, like the Users.db and Triggers.db. If WebCatalog cannot open or write to these dbs, then you won't be able to do the things you are trying to do, namely set the serial number and change the admin password. WebCat runs as an Apache mod, which means it has the same user and group that Apache runs as. Apache may run as different users under different platforms. Check what user apache is running under in the httpd.conf file. Set the file ownership to that user for all database files that WebCat will be opening. For more reference on permission settings, search the archive for permissions and look for posts by John Peacock.
