Here is a copy of that post: I've just discovered that the trigger 'retry' code has been disabled for some time now (since the 4.0 release, and possibly earlier). We will look at re-enabling that feature for the next WebDNA release. -----Original Message----- From: Chris List Recipient [mailto:chris-list2@surfcity.com] Sent: Friday, August 15, 2003 8:56 AM To: WebDNA-Talk@talk.smithmicro.com Subject: Trigger Validation Text Broken SMSI: I removed the "Validation Text" from the trigger file and set the "Validation Text" of the trigger to a bogus value and trigger still appears to run. It seems that the "Validation Text" stuff is broken. I bring this up because I have a trigger that does not appear to be processing but the WebCat engine thinks it is. I say it "appears to run" in that the trigger is set to run hourly and, when the trigger is executed, the next run time is set to the next hour. It is not set to the time of the next "retry" interval which it should because the "Validation Text" could not have been not found. -Chris -----Original Message----- From: Kenneth Grome [mailto:kengrome@webdna.net] Sent: Sunday, August 31, 2003 10:59 PM To: WebDNA-Talk@talk.smithmicro.com Subject: Unanswered trigger questions ... There's nothing in the docs that explains HOW MANY TIMES a trigger will 'retry' if there is a retry value set for that trigger. Does it continue to retry every [retry] seconds until it finally gets the requested page? Or does it retry only ONCE after the initial attempt to retrieve the page? This is critically important to me. There is also no information in the docs to explain what happens if NO RETRY VALUE is entered. If this field is blank, does it NOT retry at all? Or does it retry constantly without waiting until it finally gets the requested page? Thanks. -- Sincerely, Kenneth Grome ------------------------------------------------------------- Outsource your WebDNA programming for $18 an hour or less! ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
