texte = Here's a problem I recently discovered when using a template on my development box which has a MaxFound preference value of 5000 ... and the same template on a live server that only has a MaxFound preference of 500: All the shownext links are displayed properly on my development box when the db has 1400 records in it, which means I can click thru and display all 1400 records by viewing a smaller group on every page. But when the same template is used on the live server, all the shownext links above 500 are not shown, which makes it IMPOSSIBLE to page thru all 1400 records. Instead, the only visible shownext links are the ones that will display the first 500 found items. Apparently the display of the shownext links is dependent upon the MaxFound preference value. This is a BAD THING! It's fine for webdna to have a limit of 500 items per page, but why can't it *also* display all the shownext links for all 1400 records -- so I can click thru them and display all 1400 found records in smaller groups of up to 50 or 100 or even 500? Question: Is there any way that I can get all the shownext links to display properly on the live server without changing the MaxFound pref on the live server? Or is the only way to fix this by changing the MaxFound pref on the live server? By the way, I believe that SMSI should think about unbundling the shownext capabilities from the MaxFound preference. It's fine to make a preference that limits the number of items to be displayed per page, but NOT when it also eliminates the ability to display links to all the all the found items ... :( -- Sincerely, Kenneth Grome ------------------------------------------------------------- Outsource your WebDNA programming for $18 an hour or less! ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
