Hmm, it appears to me Ronald that you are consistant in the opinion that we as a helper community should not have any opinions on "how folks should post to the list". If that is true then I disagree. I agree about toneality and such but, there just *are* good and bad ways to post to the list. No one is going to ban anyone for posting a novel or posting a cryptic mess (I've actually never seen a moderated post before) but, it is probably good, for both the poster and the list, that someone mentions that posting "novels" and "cryptic messes", are bad (not referring to any post in particular). "Bad" might be discerned by (but not limited by): 1. Those that want to help will find it much easier to troubleshoot a cleanly posted code snippet. 2. The person posting is more likely to get a better response (or a response at all) by posting cleanly formated and relevent code. I don't fault an "elder" for reminding people of this every now and then. Respect is always good when responding, but respect for "our elders" (of this list) is also important (probably more so since we've all benefited from their knowledge in the past). I guess I don't think Ken's post was over the top at all. but of course, that is only my opinion. :-) Tomarrow's another day (and I will have to actually work! :-( ) Donovan -- =o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o DONOVAN D.
