texte = Strike this... I was wrong about what's reported in Installed Components (but correct about the problem being in the WebCatalog.bundle, not the engine). I had been working privately with SM and 4D on this issue, and SM had sent me several different beta versions to test prior to publicly releasing their update. I am not running the released update, but their last beta, which fixed all issues for us.
