I didn't need to get an email server and install it to allow email. The MS OS email system I've always disabled (LOL) and have had no real working experience with it. I also do not use the MS dns. I'm the only one who uses the server control panel, although I believe Plesk will allow others to login and control their own domains for ftp, email etc. Plesk also has a webemail feature, which is basic and adequate for me. www.ev1servers.net has a large forum where users talk about the control panels on all platforms, good and bad. I've had no real issues with Plesk once we did a small upgrade/patch way in the beginning. Others (from the forum on ev1) maybe haven't been so lucky, but I still think its because people start installing things left and right and start doing weird setups. Mine just runs and runs cause its sorta basic from the get-go I've noticed that the Plesk email engine seems to slowly hog up memory, and a reboot of the server fizes that, but I get a whole lot of spam through all those domains (dictionary attack emails etc) and that may be the cause. I'm slowly watching that to see what I can do. Nothing seems to be mentioned at Plesk or at the mail software website, so we'll see. weddna work fine. (I've got good ol' 4.5.1 LOL) so that that in consideratio I guess.. email was simple once I was told to set the email setting in webdna to "localhost" ... that was way easieer than I thought it would be hope that helps email work --- Ross Markbreiter wrote: > Thank you, > I was looking at plesk, as you also using > HSPcomplete? > Do you like PLesk? are you using windows server > 2003? good to know you can use webdna with it. > Ross > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Lester > To: WebDNA Talk > Sent: Thu, 24 Mar 2005 21:44:06 -0800 > Subject: Re: [OT] ISP Windows program > > > > > > Plesk > > http://www.sw-soft.com/en/products/pleskwin > > > > I'm using it at EV1servers.net for about 10 > domains on > > one dedicated server, some are on their own ip's > some > > are shared, email, ftp, etc are all independent of > > each other.
