texte = Nope, don't know of a text editor that could do that - I was just saying that in general I never save from within Excel. If Excel chokes on this large file, you might open it in a text editor first, grab half of the records (copy) and then paste that into Excel (format the entire sheet as "text" first), crop that one column, copy and then paste back into a new text editor page.
