 before and after to the format the info.Yeah, I've done all that.  It seems as though, if an error occurs,  nothing is returned.  I ran into this problem a few years ago (http://search.smithmicro.com/TalkListArchive/SubjectResults.tpl?command=search&db=webdna-talk.db&wsSubjectdata=%20Can%27t%20ping%20%28problem%20with%20%5Bshell%5D%29&words=%5Bshell%5D&group1data=%5Bshell%5D&group1comp=wo&max=15 ).  The problem in that instance was I needed the full path to ping.   But, since no error was being reported back through the [shell]  context, it was very difficult to figure out what the problem was.
