This WebDNA talk-list message is from 2008
It keeps the original formatting.

texte = Bob,Not sure what happened with ours either, as it started suddenly, BUT, we did find a solution that has kept us trouble free for over a month now, until we decide what direction were taking all this, now that DNA is ALIVE again! .. :-)We feel it might be related to an OS update somehow. This is on a G5 Xserve. Here is a post from a previous email on the other list that might help. Not sure what version of OSX your running, but you have to watch it, as newer versions don't run Cron, and use launchd instead. If you want to give it a shot, I'd be willing to help with any info you might need. For Cron systems you can trigger the script with Cronnix, launchd you can use Lingon. If nothing else, it's bought us time, and sleep.... uh .. and vacations... gotta have them... ;-)Rob----------------------------------------------------------------------------------We've actually given up trying to find it, even though it occurs every 72 hours, and have moved on to recoding sites in other languages, as they are renewed. We are down to a handful of sites anyway.Your script will not work on 10.4.10 or newer(I think), using cronnix, as cron has been eliminated, and replaced with launchd . The script we use is slightly different, and a little more graceful, but amounts to the same thing in the end. It gets launched at a predetermined slow time on our networks everyday, and the total down time is 6 seconds. Here is a copy of our script, if you use it save it out as whatever.sh making sure it has proper permissions:--------------------------------#!/bin/shecho "Stopping service"/Library/WebServer/CGI-Executables/WebCatalogEngine/WebCatalogCtl stopsleep 5echo "Starting service"/Library/WebServer/CGI-Executables/WebCatalogEngine/WebCatalogCtl startexit 0------------------------------If your not familiar with launchd, you can use a free little app called Lingon to set it up. Hope this helps someone out.Rob
