I have just set up a system where the folder containing the = files to be downloaded is protected with a .htaccess file.  This prevents = direct download but WebDNA can access the folder.

 

When a user logs in they then can download a file they have = permissions for by proxying the file through a WebDNA template (using [returnraw] = and associated headers).  Because the download link is a WebDNA = template you can use whatever criteria you want to control the download.  This = method does away with the need to create/delete temporary folders = etc.
