Th Mac B4 version seems fine though right, We are on the final stretch with most of the remaining issues (for the 6.1 final release) being cosmetic. Back to MacMini's... I still think these things are an interesting consideration in many applications... for instance, many years ago, I used to run an intranet WebDNA Server.. which hosted some custom WebDNA applications... a Standard Operating Procedure lookup and system, A basic intercommunication system, Software inventory database, dev testing, etc.. this little mac mini is perfect for something like that. I could easily see it as a valid option for realworld hosting as well. One could conceivably buy two for that price... then run one in firewire target mode, and run a script (cron/rsync) that creates an exact mirror of the live machine. Then, if the live machine fails, you just have to restart the mirror mini, and you are back in business. (I haven't tried it but it sounds interesting anyway) It's not a redundant power supply, hot swap unit, but on a budget.... Now, I'm sure someone very adept in Linux could probably find cheaper solutions that are just as good or better... but not everyone is a linux OS guru. Things like the mac Activity Monitor and console, make troubleshooting server problems quite a bit easier for folks without years of linux administration. Of course, you have to be at the machine location to use those utilities! Anyway, I feel like a talkative Apple rep today! ;-).. but I had better get back to work! Donovan -- Donovan D.
