I wouldn't exactly describe this as a major overhaul. ;-) But if you are just starting out, I know how difficult things can be. (we all have been there). Keep at and pretty soon changes will come easy and quickly. From your further comments, you seem to be getting the hang of it. Regarding permissions. Just make sure the image is readable by webserver. If you are using MacOSX, that would usually be: rw_r__r__ with user '_www' and group '_www'. Then make sure your directory that contains the images has the appropriate perms. I usually do: rwxrwxr_x with user '_www' and group '_www'. good luck!
