You are right, this may be doable without putting in a whole lot of extra work. Of course we can't distribute closed source OS's and applications, but perhaps a Linux image could be made. When we get to the AMI thing, I'll keep that in mind. If someone wanted to expedite this and create a WebDNA "Perfect Server" Linux image, that would be fine with me. You would not have to use a DE license (and preferable I would say create the image without one), but instead, just download the publicly available software, set up the server you like, and then create the image. Then, the user of that image could grab the lic. they desire from the store front. The thing about "Perfect Servers" (I like this term) is that it they can be totally different depending on who sets it up. Everyone has their tools of what they like. So, I guess it would be pretty cool to see different people offer their version of the "WebDNA Perfect Server". I would be happy to post the images (after review) on our website somewhere as an option to simply downloading the installer.
