texte = Agree Donovan; that's a great technique and I use it a lot myself. Sometimes you HAVE to do it this way in order to apply criteria that happen above the search. Another reason is if you are using sort parameters, and some searches will need one, some will need three, some in this order, some in that order. Sort order has to be 1, 2, 3, etc with no gaps or repeats, so it can be quite unweildy to manage with showif/hideif.
