From the amount of time i recall that  it took - it may be a good starting point.

WSC already has a source control that is open already. ;-)

before the horse. I think the first place to start is in purposeful
function libraries. For example, a realestate themed, or AJAX themed lib.inc etc.. The goal of a framework is not that much different only adding complexity with having to learn a framework API.

I don't know that we need that complexity right now. One of the most marketable things with WebDNA solutions is it's ability to affect the end goal quickly (because of it's syntax and tool set). That is the end goal of a framework anyway. I always want to say to my client with
