The 6.2 module is still downloadable and will remain available online. Version 7.0 allows to create your own shopping cart system, in a much more modern way (databases). The SiteBuilder is just an application that was voluntarily relying on some extra tags to be able to charge more money to the customer (Commerce Edition License). Many of us built sophisticated shopping cart system without using anything from the Commerce Edition.
