I am not clear remembering what all = I went through as I tried to do what you are desiring.. but the main = thing is that it did not work (and I think thus Bob's post). You can = pass vars around..but that does not get them into the *browser*'s = usr/pass slots (however one says that). If you hit a = [protect/authenticate].. then you are stuck there... you never reach a = [redirect] below that. I vaguely remember some browsers (in the late 90's) would let you stick = a user/pass in the URL, not as URL params.. but like=20 http://[username]:[password]@www.mysite.com/login2.html .. to get them into the browser's usr/pass, but not all browsers worked. = Everyone who was trying to use that as a means to reliably get values = into the browser usr/pass finally abandoned the attempt, AFAIK. There was lots of discussion then about it.
