texte = Hi Matt On one site, upon PDF purchase, we made a temp (temp & pass-protected) = directory and copied the product (PDF) to that directory (download link = in a new, temp, pass-protected page) .. and emailed the user their = user/pass, and the link to that page... and then deleted the works after = some time. Seems like you could get fancier to require the user to = login with their email address at the time they want to download.. and = then reset the password at that moment and email the new password to = their email address.. and make the thing change the pass again as soon = as the login page gets accessed again (past the point of user/pass = check). This way the purchase is associated with one email address and = the pass gets reset every time the download page gets hit uniquely so = the user would have to be actually using that email address to get the = product. Also many months ago I asked on this list about protecting (shockwave) = movies and Terry Nair explained how he used flash to protect them. = Patrick McCormick and Dan Strong also had some ideas they posted in that = thread. =20 The subject of that thread is: "[WebDNA] OT? - how to get webdna to tell browser to open SWF directly = in the browser?" (from 2009-08-26 4:34:03 PM EDT) Dan also posted when I asked in another thread with subject line: "[WebDNA] Can I do something with webdna to pass-protect an attempt to = access a swf file directly?" I still do not understand how the new archives' search function works.. = so good luck (and please let me know if/how) you are able to find these = threads via searching.
