texte = Kenneth and Dan,I converted the line endings to UNIX style, getting rid of the line feeds, and this worked. I checked into the export as tab-delimited text file, and Ihad already done that. Thanks guys, for your help. I really appreciate it.Lori -----Original Message-----From: Dan Strong [mailto:webdna@danstrong.com] Sent: Saturday, July 02, 2011 1:28 PMTo: talk@webdna.usSubject: Re: [WebDNA] DB helpLori,I've found it's safest to use UNIX line endings since I work between PC/Mac/Linux. I don't know the mechanics or reasons why it works (maybe someone else can fill in the blanks), but I know that UNIX line-endings transfer across all 3 platforms without getting mangled. So in your text-editor, or whatever program you're using to edit the .db files, (personally I alternate between Notepad++ (PC), BBedit (Mac), and Dreamweaver (either) as needed. They all allow for choice of line endings in their respective settings/preferences.-Dan Strong--------------------------http://www.DanStrong.comhttp://www.PLSNV.comOn 7/2/2011 1:12 PM, Kenneth Grome wrote:> it sounds like the db is not being formatted properly upon> export.>> Sincerely,> Kenneth Grome>>>>> Why is it that sometimes when I bring a db file into>> WebDNA, the program cuts the number of records in half,>> and puts the records on every other line?>>>>>>>> I am working with a PC computer and server IIS7, and I>> know about needing a carriage return and a line feed at>> the end of every line, including the first line with the>> field names.
