The server had been up for 210 days, and during that time either a semaphore leak has used up all available semaphores, or bad ram has caused the memory to become corrupted and the server to lose track of how many semaphores are available and in use. So it could be the lack of semaphores is causing both applications to not be able to acquire locks and they are corrupting themselves and crashing. > > A reboot was the first solution, and it seems it fixed the problem. The version of 6.2 will not create anymore semaphore with identical names and hopefully the problem should not reappear. However, if the server crashes again within a week, then the problem is most likely a bad RAM chip. > > - chris Glad the problem was fixed for you Rob, but let's be clear, there is no bug that has been identified in the OS X WebDNA 6.2 build as of yet. There *is* an abundance of conjecture in this thread, but nothing concrete. I suggest to the list that troubleshooting should start out with the assumption there is a 'bug'. ;-) Donovan -- Donovan Brooke Euca Design Center www.euca.us Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
