texte = I've never set up or programmed a Joomla website, but I have noticed a few of them that were pathetically slow. I never knew they had a code bloat problem.Speaking of slowness, I built my first CMS based on the v3 WebCat StoreBuilder from 1997. I redeveloped parts of it over 10 years through 6 different CMS versions but I always felt it was also heavily coded, and those old frames were annoying too. Then in 2008 I started re-engineering my CMS from scratch. I'm already up to version 4. Even though a few of the back office screens look similar to the StoreBuilder of old, the WebDNA code was all retyped and cleaned up. It's such a delight knowing that all the excess fat code was removed and we can 100% control everything without guessing what a programmer was thinking in the mid 90's.According to Google's Page Speed we went from 7 seconds load time on the product catalog pages down to 1 or 2 seconds. Now our limitation is the T1 connection and not the bloated code.-MattOn 4/20/2012 12:23 PM, christophe.billiottet@webdna.us wrote:> Hi Terry! google joomla slowness.... joomla is a nice product, but very heavy coded, and running it on a fast PHP server with an external fast MySQL server will not fix the speed problem.
