texte = Hi Ken,I am beginning to think that you may be right. After various meticulousreplicating of configuration settings and testing, it appears that WebDNAworks well with IIS 6.0 (Win2003) and no longer with IIS 5.1 (WinXP Pro).Something broke the XP servers relation with WebDNA. If anyone is running XPPro / WebDNA out there, could you confirm this.Anyway .... Via Adminstrative Tools-Event Viewer-Application, we get thisinformation flag for Webcat Service. Expanding it shows this message ....."The description for Event ID ( 4000 ) in Source ( Webcat service ) cannotbe found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry informationor message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may beable to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help andSupport for details. The following information is part of the event:Application restarted by WebCatalog service."On the successful Win2003 servers, the same Event is shown but ID (4010). Iam guessing here that ID 4010 is a good launch of Webcat Service and ID 4000is not. The message DLL files to display messages correctly was never partof the WebDNA install. So sad .....now I have to purchase yet another 2003 license and re-config myentire PC ....damn.By the way, the installer for Windows WebDNA 6.2 has broken links. If you goStart-All Programs-WebDNA and you click on "Uninstall WebDNA" shortcut....it finds C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\WebCatalog\WebCatalog\UNWISE.EXE but isunable to uninstall because UNWISE.EXE was actually installed here ...C:\Inetpub\wwwroot \WebCatalog\UNWISE.EXE ...one folder shy. Moving theUNWISE.EXE to the right folder works fine.Never knew this until today ...the first time in ages that I had touninstall in order to re-install.Thanks guys and please, if anyone can shed some light, I would be all earsand eyes. I would probably switch one server to 2003 but not the other...so, if I can get that to work on XP Pro ...it still would be nice.Cheers TDn-----Original Message-----From: WebDNA Solutions [mailto:kengrome@gmail.com] Sent: Friday, April 27, 2012 21:39To: talk@webdna.usSubject: Re: [WebDNA] WebDNA Start-up Error> Oh well, keep suggestions coming in folks.Replace the OS on the broken servers with Win2003 since it's working on yourother servers?Sincerely,Kenneth GromeWebDNA Solutionshttp://www.webdnasolutions.comWebDNA Programming and Linux Server Administration---------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list
