Basically rather than do a [search], for instance, I'd do a [shell]curl... blah[/shell] and send "search vars" (?db=1&eq=SKU... etc..) then parse the returned results on the requesting server as if it was [founditems]. For security I encrypted/decrypted certain vars, used SSL, an API "key" and an IP whitelist (thus trusted). Performance was obviously slower than if the dbs were on the same machine but not by as much as I thought. So it's doable, but not ideal or probably even practical, but it worked. ------------------------------------ Sent from phone -Dan Strong http://danstrong.com http://sw.amphou.se On Aug 13, 2015 4:17 PM, "Stuart Tremain" wrote: > We can only wish that that were possible. > > I would love to be able to setup two or more web servers with one data > server. I set up a proof of concept "central" WebDNA db se= rver that acted as an API of sorts to two trusted WebDNA client servers tha= t mirrored each other. It allowed both trusted servers to manipulate WebDNA= dbs and trigger stored WebDNA code via GET and POST calls.

Basically rather than do a [search], for instance, I'd d= o a [shell]curl... blah[/shell] and send "search vars" (?db=3D1&a= mp;eq=3DSKU... etc..) then parse the returned results on the requesting ser= ver as if it was [founditems]. For security I encrypted/decrypted certain v= ars, used SSL, an API "key" and an IP whitelist (thus trusted).

Performance was obviously slower than if the dbs were on the= same machine but not by as much as I thought.

So it's doable, but not ideal or probably even practical= , but it worked.

We can only wish that that were possible.

I would love to be able to setup two or more web servers with one da= ta server. At the moment I am doing this using WebDNA & MySQL.
