Hi Chris, I think you know me ... as a long-time WebDNA developer who has always been looking for more work in recent years. I haven't been overbooked since I moved back to the USA 8-9 years ago. I respond privately to every post on this list for WebDNA programming help ... simply because I would like to have more work in order to fill up my work schedule! One or two regular part-time clients would be ideal since I can server them on a long-term basis. I prefer to support a few good clients for as long as they might want or need me. I am very happy to "take over" the WebDNA programming work that other developers wish to send me. I understand that some of the folks in our "WebDNA programming family" would like to retire from this type of work -- but I never intend to retire from it -- and I'm hoping to still be doing WebDNA development 20+ years from now! For the newer folks on this talk list who may not know me or my history, here is my introduction: I am Kenneth Grome, a WebDNA programmer since the very early days (in the mid-late 1990's) when the software was called WebCatalog and was still under early development by PCS -- Pacific Coast Software. Back in those days I was using the software 70-80 hours a week or more, and actively complaining about WebCatalog's limitations to its co-owners: Grant, John and Jay. Instead of dismissing my critical comments or just ignoring me, they told me they appreciated my input because it was based on "real programming work", and this helped them to make WebDNA even better. I was the only person outside of PCS to work on the "affordable" feature-limited version of WebCatalog known as Typhoon. And I am still the only person in the world who setup a training program, complete with facilities, to train new WebDNA users: I created the WebDNA Training Center in Cebu City, Philippines then I personally taught classes in our 12-station computer lab. While this center was in operation I trained more than 200 young programmers in the basic and intermediate use of WebDNA. Then I eventually converted the training center into an outsource programming service where I employed a handful of my best graduates ... and for a few short years we offered affordable WebDNA programming to folks around the world. Unfortunately I was not able to secure enough outsourcing work for my programmer-employees on a long-term basis so I shut it down. Then my son turned 5 years old and we moved back to the USA where he could get a quality education. Since then I have continued to seek out more WebDNA work, but I have yet to get enough of it to keep myself fully self-employed. I am a very good WebDNA programmer and Linux server admin, but I am most definitely NOT a great salesman! So I invite you all to send me your excess WebDNA work, and I'll gladly do a very good job for you. If you're trying to get out of the business and don't want to leave your existing clients high-and-dry please let me know so I can take over for you. A new client or two may be all I need to fill my work schedule, and that would make me very happy indeed. :) Regards, Kenneth Grome WebDNA Solutions http://www.webdnasolutions.com Web Database Systems and Linux Server Administration --------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
