Check the comments and just pick one that offers the features you actually need for your website(s). Then if you're smart you'll get another one at a different host, and configure rsync and WebDNA to automatically duplicate the first server to the second. Do this and you'll have an almost-live backup online in case the first server/vps fails. I have been setting up and managing VPS's for my clients for years like this. All of mine run Ubuntu, Apache, WebDNA, etc. ... and I have enjoyed exceptional performance from almost all of the VPS hosts I have used. Just make sure you have a phone number for your hosts, and a direct email address, and test them both to make sure they work BEFORE you send them any money, here's why: I failed to take this precaution with one of my former hosts who relied only on their trouble ticket system to communicate with customers. They had scheduled a software upgrade, which they had done several times before without incident, so I trusted them to be successful with this scheduled upgrade as well ... But this time my VPS failed to be restored after their upgrade, and at the same time their ticket system went down . I was sending them urgent tickets telling them that my VPS was still down and they needed to restore it immediately, but because of their broken ticket system they were not receiving my urgent messages. In the end they profusely apologized for breaking my VPS for several days, and they offered me months of free service to make up for their mistake. But by then it was "too little too late". By then I had already restored my client's websites to my live backup server with a host that actually gave me their phone number and direct email address to use in emergencies. :) Regards, Kenneth Grome WebDNA Solutions http://www.webdnasolutions.com Urgent/Emergency Phone: (228) 222-2917 Web Database Systems and Linux Server Administration >I am thinking of setting up a WebDNA server.
