You'll notice that inside GeneralStore and Classifieds that there are no explicit references to either a particular web server or even a particular folder or CGI. This makes it possible to move or rename that folder and still have the URLs work. It also makes Mac->NT porting possible. All the HREFs look like this:
Browsers automatically stick the first part of the URL in front of the HREF for you, so when you click the link above what you see in your browser is this:Mac: http://www.yourserver.com/WebCatalog/GeneralStore/Results.tmplNT: http://www.yourserver.com/Scripts/WebCatalog/$WebCat.dll/GeneralStore/Results.tmplAs long as the URLs in the successive pages (Results.tmpl) are also relative, the browser will continue to stick the correct stuff in front of the template name for you.IMPORTANT POINT: There is one difference between Mac and NT at this point. The very first link that gets you inside the GeneralStore must explicitly name the CGI. After that, the browsers automatically stick the important parts of the URL onto the links. At this point, NT WebCatalog does not have the equivalent to Macintosh suffix mapping, so you can't just link directly into some random .tmpl page and have it do the WebDNA stuff. We fake the suffix mapping by doing the URL-relative stuff I mentioned above. If you follow my example by looking at the NT welcome page and seeing how it references the CGI and the template, then use all relative links inside your site, you should be OK.If you want, you can put explicit calls to the CGI as Ken has done above, but it's just more typing. In his case it may be necessary, because the site was probably not designed with this in mind from the start. We are working on getting true suffix mapping, or at least something closer, out of NT.Grant Hulbert, V.P.
