Once you add WebDNA, you can't go back to the WYSIWYG interface and make changes. You can bounce overthere to get a quick preview, but you can't change your page or save it from WYSIWYG. Never looked for placeholders, though. I just received the full blown version with manual, so will crack that open ASAP.
