[FoundItems] [/FoundItems]

...but there's a little trick to getting embedded searches to work, because VP wants to change any & in the text to &. VP has no choice, because as far as it knows, you're trying to type plain text that a visitor to your web site would see, and that's the correct encoding for ampersand. Here's what happens: [search db=xx.db&eqSKUdata=0] ---> [search db=xx.db&eqSKUdata=0]Notice how the & gets changed? That causes WebCatalog to misunderstand the parameters and to think that a variable named amp;eqSKUdata has the value 0. But there's an easy way around this: put the embedded search inside HTML comments, and VP will leave it alone. You only need to do this where & might show up, so there's no need to put [FoundItems] inside HTML comments. Here's what it would look like: [FoundItems] [/FoundItems]
[stuff]
[/Search]Notice the ending [/Search] doesn't need special treatment, because it has no & in it.So use VP 1.0.3 to design your pages visually, and then jump into source mode to put some of the special WebCatalog tags into your HTML manually. As long as you follow the guidelines above, VP won't chew up your tags. I'm very impressed with the speed of VP, especially when editing large tables compared to PageMill. It also seems to generate very clean HTML.Grant Hulbert, V.P.
