Are you using a functional and properly formatted access.db? Have the pass values in the access.db been encrypted? Are there [encrypt] tags in the protect file? What happens when you remove the [include file=protect&...] tags? Did you make any other changes to the protect file? The access.db?If these hints don't yield any clues to the problem, try removing all the [encrypt] and [/encrypt] tags from the protect file, then create a new access.db with UPPERCASE pass values that have NOT been encrypted. Also, make sure that ALL the user, pass and groups values in this new db are UPPERCASE. Also, make sure the groups field you're naming in the [include file=protect&...] tags in your templates is actually entered into the groups field of the user who is trying to access the page. And make sure you flush the db's before you do any of this -- or better yet, quit WebCatalog (or WebSTAR if you're using the plugin) to insure that the data cached by WebCat is purged from RAM -- so it won't overwrite the new access.db file after you're done creating it. Then re-launch it again after you're done manipulating these files manually. >>I've adopted the practice of using a different database -- instead of the >>users.db -- for the sites I create for others.
