YES!But not unless you toss out the basic underlying framework of WebCatalog's eCommerce features and write your own eCommerce code that uses fixed cart values and non-expiring shopping carts.Or there's an 'easier' way to do it, but it means running some special software on the 'other' computers ...The problem is this:The only way to show a specific shopping cart is to have the [cart] number in the URL. That's how WebCat knows which cart to show. And while it's easy to put a dynamic [cart] value into a URL on the same computer as WebCatalog, it's a completely different thing to put that same dynamic [cart] value into a web page on someone else's computer. This simply cannot be done (automatically) without some extra software on the 'other' computer. Now ... I can tell you that this actually works very well, because I have done something like this myself, so the answer is Yes it is possible. I put WebCat on another computer and made it talk to my copy of WebCatalog on THIS computer via http -- and it works just fine. You could use Typhoon to do the same thing ...But are you willing to (or is it even possible to) make the owners of all those 'other' computers purchase, install and run Typhoon on their computers just to have a dynamic link to a shopping cart on YOUR computer? Because if you can do that, it will be a great project! :)Sincerely, Ken Grome 808-737-6499 WebDNA Solutions mailto:ken@webdna.net http://www.webdna.net Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
