If we make changes in the admin, the changes are accepted, but not written to the preferences file and not to Users.db - if we modify the preferences manually, they are valid and stay as they are.We went through the installation tips over and over. Maybe there is a misunderstanding of the concept. The manual says one have to copy the whole content of WebCatalog to the webserver root directory. I assume the folder is meant, not just the content. But where is webserver root? At the first level or one level down where all the virtual hosts are? If we reinstall WebCat one level higher, can we access the admin templates for example? Will anything go better if we move WebCat out of the virtual hosts root to the level where Apache's config files are?
