texte = You need to pass the cart in every form or every hyperlink on the site otherwise the cart will be lost.Pressing the back button should not do anything because all that will happen is that the client will reload the page from their Cache. So the page will reload with the same cart number it had before. So if some page does not have a cart number on it, when you click to a page with a cart of course a new one will be generated. The secret is to pass the cart number around like a session ID either by embedding it in every hyperlink and form or by setting a cookie the first time the user comes to the site or the first time the user needs a cart. In my opinion the cookie is easier because you don't have to worry about losing it after you set it. Even if your user leaves your site entirely when they come back they can stil have the same cart. ----- Original Message ----- From: Will Starck To: WebCatalog Talk Sent: Monday, November 22, 1999 4:03 PM Subject: Dealing with da back button > Dealing with the back button....how are you guys (gals) handling this? > > When someone is ordering, everything is fine if they proceed in a > forward direction through a site.
