texte = My merbership database is about 9,000 records in size at the moment. It iscurrently growing by ~100 records each day. Some of the fields in thedatabase are: CreationDate and LastLoginDate.I have an administrative search that I like to look at to see how sign-upsand logins are progressing. So I want to be able to see, for example, howmany people signed on since we began operation. (80 days ago).I do this in my search page:[searchdb=name.db&neLoginDatedata=0&logindatesort=1&logindatesdir=de&logindatesumm=T&logindatetype=date&startat=1][numfound] days in operation[founditems][search db=MRNprofile.db&eqlogindatedata=[logindate]&logindatetype=date]
[math show=t]runningtotal=[runningtotal]+[numfound][/math] | [logindate] | [numfound] | ![](1x1pixel-navy.gif) |
[/search][/founditems][/search]The outside search searchs for all the unique dates in the database andthen the inside search counts the number of records that match that date. This process currently takes ~10 seconds to complete. The problem is that the server stops serving other requests during thisperiod. While that's not a problem now, it may be in the future. And whilethis is completely preventable (ie: I don't have to run the report, or Ican run the report at off hours via a trigger.)... I'm wondering if thereis some other way that I can get the number of items that match the uniquevalue without having to do a second search.Any thought?___Joe____________________________________________________Joseph D'Andrea JoeDan@West21.comWEST21.com Internet services for the 21st Century http://www.west21.com/_________________________________________________-------------------------------------------------------------Brought to you by CommuniGate Pro - The Buzz Word Compliant Messaging Server. To end your Mail problems go to
